Treat Yourself

Happy Sunday my lovelies,

I can’t believe that there are only a few weeks left until Christmas! It’s almost the end of November and I can slowly start to feel the winter vibes as it has been snowing for the first time in this season here in Switzerland.

Even though the following month should be about a contemplative pre-Christmas atmosphere it’s no secret that we often tend to stress ourselves with finding the perfect presents for our beloved ones and getting everything done before the end of the year. So, the chance that we forget our own welfare is really high. Therefore, I think we should treat not only our lovelies with nice gestures but also ourselves. Like this we can enjoy this wonderful time of the year much better.

As the last few days have been very busy, I decided to make it a lazy Sunday today and share with you guys some ideas which I think are perfect for giving yourself a break from the stressful pre-Christmas marathon.

So, I started the day with some yoga. I absolutely love it and I think it’s a great way to shape your body and clean your mind form everything that bothers you at the moment. You should really give it a try guys. If you don’t have time to go to a yoga class, just look for some tutorials on YouTube (Yoga with Adrienne is a great channel).

After my little yoga session I went on with preparing my favorite breakfast. There’s nothing better than a super yummy porridge with almond butter and some toppings. I love to eat something warm in the morning. And I promise you, your digestive system will thank you for that as well.

SONY DSCRecipe for this delicious creation:

I took 2 tbsp. of oats and 2 tbsp. of millet and mixed it in a pan with half almond milk and half water. Then and heated it up until it got the right the texture. (If you like it creamy just take more milk)

My favorite part is to choose the toppings. Today I went for banana slices, dates, goji berries, dried açai berries, cranberries and agave syrup.   I never get bored of my porridge because I love to vary my toppings. But I always (well almost) go for almond butter.  If you haven’t tried it out yet you really should do so!

SONY DSCMy lazy Sunday continued with – well apparently – keeping it lazy and comfy. So, I wrapped up myself in my blankets, made myself a cup of green tea and got some inspiration of my current favorite book How to be Parisian – Wherever you are. I’ve got it for my birthday and I love its funny writing style and all the great tips it has got. For those of you who don’t like reading – no worries – I also hated it some years ago. This was because I had to read for school and I couldn’t choose the books. But recently I discovered some fantastic ones which really interest me. I’m sure there is something out there for everyone. 😉

SONY DSCAs it is still morning here in Switzerland I have got enough time to enjoy my lazy Sunday and I decided to keep it spontaneous regarding my plans for the day ahead. I hope I could give you guys some ideas for how you could take a break of your everyday-life. Of course we all know that we can’t have lazy days everyday. But as we all try to find the perfect presents for our besties we can at least try to take some minutes and treat ourselves as well – sometimes it’s just a ten-minute yoga break or reading a chapter of your favorite book – but this is definitively better than nothing. 😉

I wish you a wonderful rest of your day guys – maybe you’re gonna take it a bit more easy like me. 🙂

Much love for everyone, Carmen ????
