November Editorial: Approach Alternatives

They are everywhere but they are often ignored: alternatives and advanced methods. You find them in fashion as well as in our social lives and in everyday situations. This is why it’s all about facing those options and linking them to the current zeitgeist. It’s a change of perspectives, which is definitely worth it.

Fashion belongs to one of the highest selling industries worldwide. For this reason, every change in the world of brands, labels and textile manufacturers somehow affect our lives. In the end, they provide us the clothes and generate a huge amount of jobs. However, there are different ways for the companies to do so. It might be expected that fashion is always up-to-date but actually, a lot of labels leg behind when it comes to the progresses of technology. The upcoming November posts will show, how some of the popular fashion houses like Gucci or Issey Myakee are currently one step ahead. They raise awareness for an eco- and animal-friendly life. Also, several start-ups understood that they are most successful by swimming against the tide. Of course, new approaches are not for the clothes in our wardrobes only. Putting everything upside down has become the trademark of Hotels like the “The Standard“, which is located in New York, Los Angeles and Miami. Unsurprisingly, the V Magazine chose the New Yorker it place at High Line as location for their party on October 24, which was dedicated to out-of-the box thinking designer Karl Lagerfeld. Moreover, the different Alternative music genres currently belong to the most played songs. Radiohead is just one of many examples – you will at least hear them in the Carmify November Playlist (releases on November 11, 2017).

Those examples clearly show that there are lots of ways to change up our usual routines. So now, one question is left: Which alternatives should we pay attention to? In the following four weeks, the CARMITIVE Crew will try to cover most of them for you. Consequently, the upcoming November posts are all about new approaches – yes, this month we will do things differently. To start off, here is some inspiration: Why not wear your bag around the neck or grab some flower boots like the ones from Peperosa Shoes instead of the ordinary black ankle boots?

Let’s have fun being different! With love, Carmen and the CARMITIVE Crew
