Kaliméra from Kos! Whether you prefer it adventurous or relaxed, sandy or rocky, windy or sunny, this island has got it all. To make the most of the time while staying on the 290 kmbig island, this travel guide covers the must activities, the best eating places and of course: How to dress Greek.

1. The To-Do List For Kos

Vacation on an island can be lots of fun – at least Kos proves it perfectly! You can either hop over to the next island or explore the area itself. Either way, it stays exciting. Just one thing to mention here is that most of the following tips and hotspots concern the area Kefalos, which is the southwestern part of Kos. However, there are several ways to explore the other areas of the island as well.

Why To Rent A Quad In Kos

Exploring is the perfect keyword for the first activity to shouldn’t miss on: Rent a quad! It’s definitely one of the most thrilling options to drive around Kos. While discovering hidden beaches, you can enjoy the full ratio of the beautiful nature and stop at some of the cute little churches. Yes, they are all colored in white and blue! 🙂 If a quad is a bit to heavy to start off, you can also go for a car – preferably not a bike, you’ll melt.

The harbor of Kos is not only a cute spot to stroll around; it can also be the start of a great boat tour! Since Kos is located near the Turkish coast, a trip to Bodrum takes less than an hour. The city is one of the most popular spots in Turkey – definitely because of the beautiful beaches, the viewpoint on the hill of the Medieval St. Peter Castle and the Turkish. So at least have yourself a Turkish tea and take a box of Turkish delights with you before leaving back to Kos.

Apparently, discovering the Greek places is just as delighting. Here, a great way to get around is a boat tour to different islands. From cute villages to dreamy bays with crystal clear water and tanning sessions on the boat –  it all results in a perfect vacation day. As for my part, I recommend you a three-island-turn to Kalymnos, Plati and Pserimos. Of course, you will also have time to jump into the turquoise ocean!

3. The Packing List For Kos

The bikinis are set, the beach dresses are ready to be thrown on for the way to the pool bar and the flip flops are waiting to stroll through the sand. Of course, the beach ensembles are a must during a vacation in Kos. After all, you want to enjoy the sun and the ocean breezes to the fullest. The latter however, is likely to turn into a cool wind. Therefore, it’s worth it to pack a blazer, a long-sleeve blouse or a denim jacket.

Also, make sure to take some maxi dresses or midi skirts with you – for the full Greek vibes, just go for the printed versions. Since it may be a bit different to take the whole wardrobe with you, just play around with some basics. Maybe you just use the belt of your dress as a neckerchief or knot an open shirt around your waist. For the small but mighty details, go for a hat, some XL-earrings or some layered necklaces in different lengths. Here you go with the look à la Greque!
