There will never be a boring September when it comes to fashion. While the new fall collections move into the stores, the spring/summer 2019 are showed on the catwalks in New York, London, Milan and Paris. In addition, street style looks are snapped, posted and spread all over social media. Inspiration is coming from all sides and places. So, how could an outfit look like, that combines the fallish atmosphere with the upcoming spring/summer mood and the cool street style vibes?
How A Fashion Week All-Rounder Outfit Could Look Like
Since I am headed to Milan Fashion Week next week, I had a special intention behind this outfit: it should be an ensemble that matches the current trends, that captures the fresh feelings of the now-showed spring/summer collections and that stands out among the various street styles. On top, it should be comfy and easy-going because during fashion weeks, you usually don’t have that much time to take a rest. Nevertheless, the first and most important credo stays the same with every outfit: it’s all about how you personally feel in an outfit. And apparently, chances are high to feel extremely good in a tracksuit and sneakers.
With an athleisure look like this, there’s one basic rule to remember: we don’t want to look like we would come straight out of the gym. It all comes down to the right combination of sporty and functional and its contrast to a cool and chic spirit. For example, you can pair a creme-white training suit with a leopard belt or wear some girly ruffle socks in your lilac Adidas sneakers. Last but not least, set some shiny highlights with a bunch of accessories, which will make everything a bit more glamorous.
Why To Spread The Athleisure Message
Even though this outfit is pure simplicity, it unites all mentioned components in one. At the same time, it reflects the current zeitgeist, which will continue to evolve with the upcoming spring/summer season. To be exact, the increasing popularity of athleisure comes with the emerging values in our society. Sport has become the balance in people’s busy lives and simultaneously, it is understood as a status symbol. After all, the suffix leisure represents a part that seems to be missing in most people’s lives: free time. So, in case I won’t find enough of Italian dolce vita vibes in Milan, I can at least wear them as a sporty street style look – which is suitable for non-fashion-week-places too, by the way. 🙂
