Wallowing in memories, enjoying the merry Christmas vibes and spending precious times with the beloved ones. Well, isn’t it the most beautiful time of the year? Even though December days can turn out rather stressful when thinking of the parties, the pressure of finding the perfect presents and the annual accounts, we are facing the complete opposite side this season. It’s the side that spreads the priceless Christmas feels every single year: nostalgia.
From a theoretical point of view, Christmas is rather monotonous: every year, we sing the same Christmas songs, we watch the same Christmas movies and we eat the same Christmas cookies. Every year, the Christmas trees look more or less similar. Plus, it’s likely to eat the same menu during the festivities – it’s just too delicious to do it differently. However, would we ever get bored? Not really. It might sound paradox but after all, those rituals make the whole season so exciting.
Most of them, we may even know since our childhood. Maybe it’s baking gingerbread houses with the family, maybe it’s the daily surprise in the advent calendar (btw, some surprises are also waiting on @carmitive on Instagram account this month). Apparently, those traditions give us a feeling of security, since they stand for a pleasant familiarity at the same time. This is why I think it's so important to hold on to your inner child and its curiosity. Luckily, we have enough time to fully appreciate this nostalgic mood during the upcoming December days.
The same applies for the festive outfits. Whether it’s a little black dress for the Christmas cocktail party or a cozy Christmas sweater for a family evening watching „Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer“, „The Grinch“ or „Love Actually“. The good old classics will remain. Therefore, the following posts will be all about those inspirations, which match the beautiful memories and traditions of the festive season. Also, get ready for some joyfully Christmassy songs – there's no way to skip this playlist anyway. 🙂 We are tuning in already!
