Today, the German model Isabelle Surmont provides us an insight into her wardrobe and everything that goes with it. Such as Isabelle is a humorous person with a touch of irony herself, it’s important to her to add a unexpected and unique twist to her outfits. With accessories and colorful garments, she always manages to make her style look effortlessly cool and fashionable at the same time. This is what resembles her personality as well: Isabelle is a cool girl from Hamburg, who doesn't take herself and the social media world too seriously. On her Instagram account @isabelle.surmont, she shares some funny insights of her everyday life as a model and of course, of her style to watch.
What's the first you pick out of your wardrobe in the morning?
Normally, some trousers are first and then I start to style the whole outfit around them.
What are the three key elements to your style?
Trousers, shoes and jackets. To me, they are the most important pieces when it comes to fashion. I like to keep them a bit extravagant since they are really the elements which make my style to what it is.

If you could be a piece of clothing for one day, which one would it be?
An evening dress, which lets a person shine and and has a great night out.
What does inspire your style the most?
My inspiration comes from different people – from strangers to friends and colleagues. Of course, social media has a huge impact on the look of young people but things that really inspire me or influence my style, basically come from my real-life encounters. I adapt those impacts and change them suitably for my wardrobe.
Fashionably speaking, what is your favorite time of the year?
The late summer or early autumn times. As the weather is balmy enough but not too hot like in the summer season, when you’d prefer to wear nothing at all. In late summer, you can wear your favorite pieces from each season and combine them in your look. For example, a short dress with some cool boots or a t-shirt with a nice jacket.
What are the pieces of clothing you could never live without?
Jumpers! They are so comfy and warm and you can basically wear them during every season.
What do you count as most important in fashion?
It is really important to wear clothes that make sense to you so you don’t look disguised. To me, contradictory clothes are a belly top with long sleeves or a waistcoat that should just keep youwarm. Why should you wear a waistcoat if you could wear a jacket as well? In addition, I don’t really like conventional clothes. I love to see a twist or something unexpected in each look – it doesn't have to be visible at a first glance. Most of the time, the small, underestimated details are the secrets to a great outfit.
